Rev. Scott Nowack - July 19, 2026

Strength for Today, Hope for Tomorrow

This Sunday at First Presbyterian Church This Sunday, we gather to discover the strength God provides for the challenges of today and the hope that carries us into tomorrow. Rev. Scott Nowack will share a message titled “Strength for Today, Hope for Tomorrow,” drawing from Psalm 86:11–17 and Romans 8:12–25. Psalm 86 is a prayer for guidance, an undivided heart, and confidence in God’s steadfast love. Romans reminds us that we have not received a spirit that leads us back into fear, but the Spirit of adoption through whom we are called children of God. These passages do not ignore suffering or uncertainty. Instead, they assure us that God remains present within them, giving us strength to continue, patience as we wait, and hope for the glory still to be revealed. Special Music: A student of Mindy Smith Worship begins at 10:30 AM, with Coffee Fellowship at 9:00 AM.

Who We Are

Our Members of Session (Elders)

The Elders at First Presbyterian Church oversee and guide the entire life, mission, and ministry of the church as it seeks to glorify God and love our neighbors. Each elder has been identified as a person of Christian character and has accepted ordination into leadership in the church.

Practically, they provide for the worship, finances, building, education, mission, and outreach of the church, doing so by modeling faithfulness in all these areas. They are the servant-leaders of the church.
