Rev. Scott Nowack - June 7, 2026

Blessed to be a Blessing

This Sunday at First Presbyterian Church This Sunday we gather to reflect on God's call to bless the world through ordinary people. Rev. Scott Nowack will share a message titled “Blessed to be a Blessing,” drawing from Genesis 12:1–9 and Matthew 9:9–13, 18–26. In Genesis, God calls Abram to leave behind the familiar and promises that through him all the families of the earth will be blessed. In Matthew's Gospel, Jesus calls unlikely people to follow him and extends healing, mercy, and hope to those in need. These passages remind us that God's blessings are never meant to stop with us. We are called to receive God's grace and then share it with others through service, compassion, and faithful living. This Sunday we will also celebrate the ordination and installation of new elders and deacons, giving thanks for those who have answered God's call to leadership and service within our congregation. Anthem: Hymn Sing — “What a Friend We Have in Jesus” and “When I Survey the Wondrous Cross” Worship begins at 10:30 AM, with Coffee Fellowship at 9:00 AM.

Who We Are

Our Members of Session (Elders)

The Elders at First Presbyterian Church oversee and guide the entire life, mission, and ministry of the church as it seeks to glorify God and love our neighbors. Each elder has been identified as a person of Christian character and has accepted ordination into leadership in the church.

Practically, they provide for the worship, finances, building, education, mission, and outreach of the church, doing so by modeling faithfulness in all these areas. They are the servant-leaders of the church.
