The Gift of Committed Community

This Sunday at First Presbyterian Church On the Baptism of the Lord, we continue our Epiphany sermon series Gifts That Keep on Giving with a message from Rev. Diane Flynn titled “The Gift of Committed Community.” Our Scripture reading from Matthew 3:13–17 recounts the baptism of Jesus — a moment of humility, obedience, and divine affirmation. As Jesus enters the waters of the Jordan, God declares him beloved, reminding us that baptism is not only a personal promise but a communal calling. This Sunday’s worship invites us to reflect on what it means to be bound together in Christ — named and claimed by God, connected to one another, and called to live out our faith in community. Anthem: “Manger Songs” — Junior Choir Worship begins at 10:30 AM, with Coffee Fellowship at 9:00 AM.

Who We Are

Our Members of Session (Elders)

The Elders at First Presbyterian Church oversee and guide the entire life, mission, and ministry of the church as it seeks to glorify God and love our neighbors. Each elder has been identified as a person of Christian character and has accepted ordination into leadership in the church.

Practically, they provide for the worship, finances, building, education, mission, and outreach of the church, doing so by modeling faithfulness in all these areas. They are the servant-leaders of the church.
