The Mystery of Mercy
This Sunday at First Presbyterian Church Grace can be difficult to understand—especially when God’s generosity does not line up neatly with our ideas of fairness. This Sunday, Rev. Scott Nowack will share a message titled “The Mystery of Mercy,” drawing from Exodus 16:2–15 and Matthew 20:1–16. In the wilderness, God hears the complaints of the Israelites and provides manna—bread from heaven sufficient for each day. In Matthew, Jesus tells of a landowner who pays the same wage to workers hired throughout the day, prompting those who worked longest to question his generosity. Both stories challenge us to see God’s provision differently. Mercy is not something we earn, calculate, or deserve more than someone else. It is a gift from a God whose generosity is greater than our expectations. Anthem: “In the Father’s Hands” — Senior Choir Worship begins at 10:30 AM, with Coffee Fellowship at 9:00 AM.
