Major Heartburn
This Sunday at First Presbyterian Church As we continue in the Easter season, we reflect on how the risen Christ meets us along the road — often when we least expect it. Rev. Scott Nowack will share a message titled “Major Heartburn,” drawing from Psalm 34:1–10 and Luke 24:13–35, the story of the disciples on the road to Emmaus. As they walk and talk, the risen Jesus comes alongside them, though they do not recognize him at first. It is only later, in the breaking of the bread, that their eyes are opened and they realize who has been with them all along. Looking back, they say, “Were not our hearts burning within us?” This Sunday’s worship invites us to consider how Christ is present in our own journeys — even in the ordinary moments — and how our hearts are awakened to recognize him. Anthem: “The Colors of His Love” — Junior Choir Worship begins at 10:30 AM, with Coffee Fellowship at 9:00 AM.
