The Gift of the Unpredictable Jesus
This Sunday at First Presbyterian Church This Sunday we celebrate Transfiguration Sunday, the final Sunday in the season of Epiphany, as we continue our sermon series Gifts That Keep on Giving. Rev. Diane Flynn will share a message titled “The Gift of the Unpredictable Jesus,” reflecting on Matthew 17:1–9, the story of Jesus’ transfiguration on the mountaintop. In this moment of dazzling light, the disciples glimpse Christ’s glory and hear God’s voice declaring Jesus as the beloved Son. The Transfiguration reminds us that Jesus cannot always be contained within our expectations. Just when the disciples think they understand him, Christ reveals something deeper, brighter, and more mysterious. This Sunday’s worship invites us to remain open to the surprising ways God continues to reveal grace and truth. Anthem: “Cast Thy Burden Upon the Lord” — Senior Choir Worship begins at 10:30 AM, with Coffee Fellowship at 9:00 AM.
