Marvel in the Glory
The birth of the Christ forever alters history. No longer do we live seemingly meaningless lives, blinked by in an instance. No longer does time meander forward without destination. No, now “the world is firmly established” (in the words of Psalm 96) by the marvelous glory of God. This glory not only alters history but gives meaning and purpose to our lives too. Trains us in righteousness and patience; it compels us to share the Christmas story all year round. To marvel in the glory of God is not some seasonal opportunity – like a candy cane latte – but a newly-born disposition of the soul.
