Panting Patience
We know the glories that await us. We know that God will raise us from the dead, restore us to ourselves, and clothe us in His glory. We know that the weeds that sprout up in the fields of life are not forever. We know that our hope is sure. And yet. It’s just taking so long. We’re tired. We’re irritable. We’re sad and mad and sick and tired. Our vision of the future is true, but that harsh facts of life poke and prod us. It’s enough to leave us breathless – both in glory and agony. This is why patience is one of the chief Christian virtues, for it is patience that helps us persevere.
