Hands On Spirituality
From the beginning, life with God is a hands on affair. Like, literally, “in the beginning” when God formed humanity from the clay of the earth. The prophet Isaiah echoes this sentiment in the creation of Israel, the people of God, and has God “form” them. All our understanding of laying hands on someone in prayer – as we witness in our Acts reading – must be understood through the prism of the God who first lays hands on our lives – hands that heal, hands that are crucified for our forgiveness, hands that promise to remake our life in the form of the Life.
