Zechariah's Movie: How the Grinch Stole Christmas

The coming of the Christ child is no neutral event. It is meant to convert the entire world. We see this happening even before Jesus is born through the life of his uncle Zechariah. Zechariah had to see his heart grow three sizes in order to contain the promises God was making, which is why Zechariah loves to re-watch How the Grinch Stole Christmas every year.

Scripture References: Luke 1:5-23, Luke 1:67-80

From Series: "Advent at the Movies"

In my household – and likely in yours – one of the great joys of the Christmas season is Christmas movies. Cold temperatures outside are warded off by the warmth of fun films, close cuddles, and blankets. Many of these films carry more than just good family memories; they carry the very character of Advent. Over the four weeks of Lent, you are invited to watch four classic Christmas movies and then engage these stories through the lens of the story of Advent. For best results, watch the movies/shows in advance of each Sunday.
