Made For This

The chief end of humankind is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever. We’ve placed the Worship Committee at the end of this sermon series not because it is least important but because it is the culmination and capstone of all our other mission and ministry through the church and in the world. Our property is worship, and so is our mission. Our education is worship, and so is our stewardship. It is all worship and it is all directed toward and dedicated to our King, whom we worship on this Christ the King Sunday.

From Series: "Committees for Christ"

During the Session/Deacon training in June 2021, Pastor Jeff solicited sermon topics and themes from the Elders and Deacons. One of the themes recommended was to preach a sermon series on the Session Committees of our church in order to help the congregation see the ways that our Committees and Teams aren’t just part of an organizational flow chart, but are “Committees for Christ.” As Pastor Jeff returns from his sabbatical, we will focus on the mission and ministry that we are called to together and the shape this mission and ministry takes through our Session’s leadership of the church. Each week will feature a sermon and a “Minute for…” from the chairperson for each Committee. The hope with this series is that when you’re asked to join a Committee, what you hear is an offer to join in Christ’s ministry in the world since these are “Committees for Christ.”
