"And He Ascended Into Heaven..."
The Ascension of Jesus almost feels like an interlude between the high drama of the resurrection (Easter) and the high drama of the Holy Spirit being poured out on the disciples (Pentecost) and therefore it is easy to miss its importance and value. But the Ascension is more than Jesus’ highly-stylized departure, more than His retirement tour. In the Ascension, we have a divine seal placed on the promissory note made in the resurrection – and we know this because of Jesus’ departure location, Bethany. Intrigued?
