Lamentations 3:22-23
The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning.
A couple of weeks ago, I had the joy of assisting with Vacation Bible School … it was MONUMENTAL! At the closing each evening, all the children and adults would gather to reflect and sing. One of the songs the children learned was “Great Is Your Faithfulness.” What a true blessing it was to hear these children lift their voices, with some dance moves, to proclaim glory to our awesome God!
I have reflected on this hymn most mornings since VBS. This simple song shares the message of the amazing faithfulness of our Heavenly Father. Our Lord has been, is and always will be compassionate and unchanging. In every season, in every aspect of life, we can bear witness to his everlasting love and faithfulness. Although we may sin, God is rich in mercy and continuously forgives us.
As adults, we can find this same joy of God’s faithfulness as the smiling, laughing and dancing children did. Our Lord provides us with the strength we need to get through each day with hope for a brighter tomorrow. Some days are not the best. We may be discouraged, frustrated, or just plain ache; but know that with each new morning God brings new mercies and provides us with everything we need when we need it.
Great is God’s never ending, MONUMENTAL faithfulness!
